The ‘to do’ list of recent weeks has included a focused attempt to better keep up with blackbird wings, and although two of these have already flown, more are roosting in the studio in various states of completion.
In the midst of pushing ahead, I stepped outside for a few moments in the garden. “Caw caw caw” I heard. And there he was, directly above… “ok, I said, ok, I’m working on it!” And since then I see them out of the corner of my eye everywhere I go. This year the crows are making a comeback (musings about crows and nature‘s challenge to them here), and I suspect that familiar call will be prominent
in my summer soundtrack. Perhaps those big black clouds of roosting crows
are no so far away… dark angels watching from above, and not so silently.
