Little odd bits of sterling silver wire and some scrappy melted nuggets, that’s the nuts and bolts of it. But what can come from the sum of these parts, that’s where the magic lies. Each little assorted bundle gets carefully shaped, melted, twisted and soldiered to become a leafy little sketch, the essence a 3 dimensional cocktail napkin doodle… but wearable. Aiming to embody the charm of that sort of effortless sketch, I hope I’ve got it right.
These are completely recycled, made from wire bits and bobs that are an unavoidable by-product of cutting and clipping and making this and that, then winding up with the very pretty problem of what to do with the extra stuff. And look at that, it’s worth figuring a solution to that problem. I’ve made a few scribbley pairs, all in this style but each quite distinct from it’s cousin pairs. From top to bottom, these are about 1 3/4″ long, and are slightly over 1 1/8″ wide at the widest point. Very lightweight, and the ear wires are built into the wiry design with a tiny hook closure. The earring you see in the last picture, shown in the ear, is of my sample pair, not a pair intended for sale.
