Quince season

As surely as the leaves pirouette across the yard, the sights and sounds of fall unfold. And my favorite part… the scent.  It’s as though there’s a whole orchard out there, and if you closed your eyes you could be worlds away from these suburban streets. Every year I grab a bowl for the kitchen table and keep it filled for as long as they last. The best reason ever to breathe a little deeper.  See the story of our quince trees here.

I always adored that particular quince tree. Happily, graciously, and lovingly, that tree cast its glorious presence over many happy occasions , great conversations and the loving grace and support good people have to offer.

    I love their sugar-dressed finery.
