So, I was late getting the seeds planted but it turns out the San Marzanos from last year’s heirloom tomatoes (thanks Ruth!) are quick studies. Early mornings lately, teeny yellow-green leaves greet me from the seed house with their tentative sleepy smiles. Could it be these tiny fellows will yield that sunshine packed fruit we greedily enjoyed last season? We’ll give it a good try… wait and watch. For now I’ll guard them as best I can.
