cicada wings, 17 year earrings

Last year the 17 year cicadas arrived… since they annually fill the hazy summer nights in my garden with a raucous chorus, I didn't notice much difference in the sound. But I found wings everywhere. They sat on my desk this winter, and so this was bound to happen. Sterling silver lacy cicada wing earrings. Each wing itself is 1 3/4" long by 5/8" wide. The entire earring is 2 1/2" long. So light and easy to wear, they are barely there, yet so very visible. Based on the real thing. Limited production from my original hand fabricated model, each uniquely hammered and finished piece will be slightly different. No need to wait 17 years.
