moon and sun with gold stars

The vast galaxy, locked together swirling through time yet appearing so very reliable in our sky each day. Our sun and moon, daily companions and inspiration for mythology and dreams. Were we fit in the scheme of things in relationship to these ancient powerhouses is anyone’s guess. But here they coexist in in artful balance of silver and gold, with an amethyst accent. The whole is greater than the sum of it’s parts.

This moon-sun pendant is roughly 1 inch square, The crescent moon is cut from sterling, and the sun-disk is silver with a wash of 18 kt gold.  The marquee amethyst is bezel set in a 14 kt gold hand made setting, and the little melted star dots are also 14 kt., reclaimed. The lively amethyst is an antique cushion cut gem, smooth on top, and faceted on the bottom. Hangs on a sterling chain.
