A bold and modern perspective on my current lunar explorations.
Not for the feint of heart, this large moon medallion combines a sterling crescent with a pointy elipse (yes, I made that shape terminology up) cut from sterling/18 ct gold bimetal, which is silver with a thin layer of gold on top. The two sturdy shapes are joined with melted golden nuggets, and the imaginary circumference supports a small satellite of deep pink tourmaline. The brushed finish appears to embrace the light with a soft glow rather than bounce it back out.
The medallion measures an uneven 1 1/4 inch around, on a heavy sterling chain about 16 inches with handmade hook catch and a 3 inch extender.
